Losing to Winning Story

You can create your underdog story too.

I’ve been accumulating many skills in my field for this very moment. But at this very moment I am hanging by a thread and things don’t look good. Picture a fighter with a bruised face, swollen eyes, and blood streaming down his face. This is how I feel right now. I feel like giving up, begging my mind to throw in the towel, but it won’t.

During my lowest moment, I have a flashback. I think back to all the hard work that I’ve put in. I think about all the books and articles I’ve read. The pages of notes I’ve taken, and the hours of exercise that I’ve done. I think about my family and wife who are counting on me to win. My friends, and co-workers who have encouraged me, even if they didn’t know it. I think about my role models who have shown me that anything is possible. I think about all of these things, and then I snap.

Suddenly I’m the fighter who’s caught that second wind. No longer do I feel my opponents blows, but my opponent feels my counter punches. The tables have suddenly turned and I have the edge in this fight. I can hear my family, wife, friends and new friends cheering me on. I did not quit, I was losing but now I’m winning. All of my training and new skills have been triggered and I am a beast. I deliver the knockout punch and the fight is over. I am victorious.

You can be victorious too. Be the underdog of you’re life. When the odds are against you, keep fighting until you win. It’s not over, until you say it’s over.
